Instrumental and vocal lessons Terms and Conditions

  • Fees

    1. Lesson fees are payable on or before the first lesson of each term.

    2. Due to practicality and fairness, we are unable to offer tuition to individuals on a pay-by-lesson basis.

    3. Lesson fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.

  • Missed Lessons

    1. One to one lessons:

        1. Regardless of circumstances, private lessons not cancelled or rescheduled at least 24 hours before start time will be charged full rate and the lesson will be forfeited. This policy is also applicable to online lessons.

        2. Lessons missed with more than 24 hours notice will not be refunded but a reschedule class credit will be applied to your account and it can be used within 30 days. Students will need to be flexible.

          1. It is up to the student/parent/guardian to arrange the rescheduled class via your Student Portal or by emailing info@meathmusicacademy.com. The best way to reschedule is through your online Student Portal.

          2. Once the credit has expired after 30 days, the lesson fee will be forfeited and is not refundable.

          3. If the first lesson in a term is missed, the full month's lesson fee is still payable on return to lessons.

          4. Similarly we are unable to adjust fees the following term due to classes cancelled or missed by the student.

    2. Group Lessons & Band Classes: due to the nature of group lessons, any session missed by a student is forfeited and cannot be rescheduled or refunded.

  • Teacher Cancellation: As all our teachers are also professional musicians or examiners, from time-to-time a conflict of schedule may occur. If the teacher needs to cancel a lesson and a substitute teacher is not available, a make-up lesson may be booked at a time that is mutually convenient.

  • Holiday Lessons Are Not Automatically Cancelled: Prior notice will be given when Meath Music Academy is closed due to a holiday or special event. Otherwise, please assume that lessons are scheduled as usual.

  • Lateness If you arrive late or sign on late for an online lesson, your lesson will still end at the scheduled time. This loss of time will not be made up at another time. If you arrive on time but the previous lesson runs late, you will be given your full allotted time.

  • Turn-around Time If you need to speak to the teacher with regards to lessons, you/your child’s progress etc, please aim to do so during your child’s allotted time or at a time convenient to the teacher.

  • Supervision There is no provision for supervision of students either before or after their lesson time. There is a waiting area to facilitate collection of students, however this is unsupervised.

  • Examinations Examinations are a good marker of progress, however they are not compulsory.  Examinations are at an additional cost to lesson fees and must be paid in advance of the closing date for the exam.

  • Additional Lessons Additional lessons may be scheduled in agreement between the student and teacher and will be charged to the family account.

  • Termination of Contract A written notice of no less than 4 weeks is required to terminate this agreement. In the event that the student discontinues lessons with insufficient notice, the students will be liable to pay fees for those lessons not taken during the notice period.

  • Data Students must supply Meath Music Academy with their contact number. In the case of students under 18 years of age, a contact number, email address and postal address of the student's parent/guardian must be provided. It is the student/parent’s responsibility to ensure that their information on file is up-to-date, otherwise we may be unable to keep you up to date with schedule changes, or should you need to be contacted in case of emergency. Upon payment of the tuition fees, the student agrees to keeping personal records on the computer system and databases, which will be mindfully maintained by Meath Music Academy.
